THE POWER OF HYDRATION

DID YOU KNOW?

The human body is made up of 60 - 75% water...?

H-TRIO™ offers hydration solutions.

Water is your body’s principal chemical component. Every system in your body depends on water. Water regulates body temperature, lubricates and cushions joints, flushes toxins out of vital organs, transports oxygen and nutrients to cells (and wastes from cells), provides a moist environment for ear, nose and throat tissues, builds muscle and other tissues and aids in the absorption and utilization of vitamins and minerals. Drinking water can assist with weight loss, help to maintain energy levels and reduce fatigue.

Maintaining good hydration is critical to maintaining good health...?

Mild dehydration is the number one trigger of daytime fatigue and can affect physical and mental performance. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger short-term memory problems and difficulty focusing on a computer screen or printed page.

Poor hydration can lead to constipation, dry and itchy skin, acne, nose bleeds, repeated urinary tract infections, dry coughs, sinus pressure, muscle cramps, dizziness, headaches and fatigue, which can be the result of toxins building up in our bodies. It can weaken the body’s immune system and lead to chemical, nutritional and pH imbalances, which can eventually cause sickness and premature aging.

Severe dehydration can be life-threatening.

HOW MUCH IS ENOUGH?

Everyone needs water to maintain life – that’s a fact. What’s reasonable for you depends on a variety of factors, including your overall health, where you live, how active you are, your age, gender and diet. Since we lose water just by breathing, it is important to replace that water and pay attention to your body to ensure it is properly hydrated.

H-TRIO’S FOCUS ON HYDRATION

Keeping your body properly hydrated is critical for your body’s ability to digest and absorb vitamins and nutrients. With this in mind,
H-TRIO™ has formulated a robust line of nutritional health products that can be mixed with water (or other fluids) to support proper hydration and overall good health. H-TRIO™ products are all natural (with no artificial colors or sweeteners) and delicious!

10 TIPS FOR STAYING HYDRATED

For many of us, staying hydrated is challenging due to our busy schedules, troubles “keeping track” and even boredom with drinking plain water. Here are a few tips to ensure you keep your body properly hydrated:

  1. Don’t wait until you’re thirsty to drink water. By that time, you may already be slightly dehydrated.
  2. Carry a bottle of water with you at all times so you can drink it throughout the day.
  3. Drink a glass of water with each meal (and in between meals) and start your day with a glass of water as your body dehydrates while you sleep.
  4. Be sure to drink water before, during and after exercising as a significant amount of fluids can be lost through perspiration.
  5. Avoid substituting alcohol, coffee, tea, soft drinks, etc. for water. These drinks, while made up almost entirely of water, can also contain caffeine and unwanted calories. Caffeine can act as a mild diuretic, preventing water from traveling to necessary locations in the body.
  6. Common colds and the flu frequently lead to dehydration. When you’re ill, keep a large bottle of water nearby so you can sip it throughout the day.
  7. Drink water at a moderate temperature. Water is absorbed much more quickly than very warm or very cold fluids. It actually makes your body work harder to warm up cold water.
  8. Make sure your children drink enough water. Including a bottle of water in your child’s lunch is a healthy habit.
  9. Keep track! H-TRIO™’s Positive Day Journal is a great tool for documenting your intake.
  10. Add flavour – and even greater health benefits – to your drinking water by adding vitamin and mineral supplements, like H-TRIO™’s Great Greens, Vital 3, TRIO Pro or Berry Best.
